World of Warcraft: Cataclysm – The New Expansion
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the newest addition to Blizzard-s Warcraft family. This expansion was a very anticipated event to Warcraft fans: two new races, the return of Neltharion (Deathwing), the eruption of the Maelstrom leading to the opening of Deepholm, exposure of the underwater world Vashj-ir, a whole new world to explore, and many more things.
Two new races were added in Cataclysm: Worgen for the Alliance and Goblins for the Horde. In addition to these races, new class/race combinations were also added. The level cap was raised from 80 to 85, but don-t take that for advantage; the length of these levels is nearly equal to the amount from 70 to 80. Nearly 3500 new quests have been added around Azeroth to tie into the lore, and make leveling faster.
Several new zones have been unlocked, as well as much of the world being completely redesigned. Players start their level 80 quests in either Hyjal or underwater in Vashj-ir. You continue onto Deepholm, then to Uldum, and finish out to 85 in the Twilight Highlands. Seven new instances and four raids, all in normal and heroic settings, have been added, giving players plentiful options for PvE.
Three new battlegrounds were added for those player versus player (PvP) fiends. The Battle for Gilneas is similar to the old Arathi Basin, but with only three points. Twin Peaks is the new version of Warsong Gulch, sporting a bigger map. And lastly, Tol Barad is the Cataclysm equivalent of WotLK-s Wintergrasp.
Other features introduced include Archaeology, a secondary skill, a revamped talent point and glyph system, the use of flying mounts in Azeroth, item customization, new point systems for PvE and PvP, and two new legendaries weapons.
All in all, Cataclysm was worth the wait and will not let you down.
